Why this plan
Local storage on the phone is only 256 GB, so the bulk of data lives in the cloud rather than on-device. The 5 TB allowance means the local limit is rarely a concern. The AI Pro tier also bundles Google’s AI features on top of the raw storage.
Gotchas
The plan is billed monthly in AUD, so price changes hit straight away. 5 TB is a lot of headroom — worth a periodic check that the tier still matches actual usage rather than paying for space that sits empty.
